The Best Toys For Nipple Orgasms | For Sensitive & Desensitized Nipples

For those on a quest to deepen your relationship with your pleasure, I have a tip that is probably going to blow your mind, if it hasn’t accidentally happened already.

In 2022 I experienced my very first nipple orgasm.

What is a nipple orgasm?

This is a question I have received multiple times.

A nipple orgasm is an orgasm that you experience genitally when stimulating your nipples. So imagine the feeling of an orgasm but without touching your lower genitals at all.

Although the answer is so simple, it is a gentle reminder that we’ve been taught that sex and pleasure has to be this complicated anomaly when in reality it’s as simple and fun as we make it.

I had my first Nipple Orgasm when I was around 28 years old.

I’d found a video of a couple “mutually masturbating” (ya’ll know it’s my FAVORITE!) and although this video was about 10 minutes long, on my end it was on for a good 30 minutes.

I was so enthralled with the characters and the realness of it all. I loved the faces the guy made and the sounds the girl made. They were literally competing to see who could make themselves orgasm first. I would recommend the video for you but I can’t find it ANYWHERE anymore.

Don’t you hate when you find the perfect video and it disappears?!

Anyways, this fantasy lasted a little longer than normal and because I wasn’t distracted looking for other videos, I was able to get fully in my body, calm my mind and focus on my pleasure.

Here's how I made my nipple orgasm happen.

I realize now that the two things I was doing was:

  1. I stimulated my nipples in multiple different ways. If I felt myself getting even close to overstimulation it’d switch nipples or techniques. I was also very very VERY gentle and really teased my nipples more than straight up rubbing them (ouch am I right? I mean some people like rubbing and that’s ok! But my nips need light lovin’ because of their sensitivity.)

  2. I realize now that I was also naturally and then intentionally contracting my vulva as I pleased my nipples. My hand never touched my vulva and I never used a toy but I tightened and released my vulva in the way that it naturally contracts when you have an orgasm.

So like… are our nipples a second vulva?

According to our (sometimes) friend google “studies suggest a direct link between nipple stimulation and the activation of the genital sensory cortex in the brain”

That led me to wonder…

What the heck is a genital sensory cortex?

First let me explain what a somatosensory cortex is because you’re going to hear about this in a minute.

“The somatosensory cortex is a region in the brain's parietal lobe that receives and processes sensory information from the body, including touch, temperature, pain, and proprioception (body position).”

Now back to the genital sensory cortex, Google said “the genital sensory cortex, part of the somatosensory cortex, processes sensory information from the genitals, and research indicates it's located in the medial paracentral lobule, with activations from clitoral, vaginal, and cervical stimulation being differentiable.” Basically it’s a part of the middle part of your brain.

Wait, quick pause… I looked up some pictures of the brain and why does it look just like a vulva or what I would imagine the inside weavings of a vulva to look like. THIS makes so much sense as to why the MIND + BODY connection is SO important when it comes to sex.

Oh my god also it makes so much sense now why we call oral sex “giving brain” or “giving head”! Whoever came up with that really did their thing but that’s another talk for another day.

Or is it?

This research has shown me that pleasure is JUST as much mental as it is physical. Actually, for it to be physical it HAS to be mental.

Now back to the nipple orgasm.

After I’d achieved my first nipple orgasm, I’d spent the next year telling the world about it, in hopes that they too could experience such a phenomena.

I called it “the year of the nipple.” but two of the most common questions I received were:

  1. Can men have one too?

The answer is yes.

  1. I can’t have a nipple orgasm, is there something wrong with me?

The answer is absolutely not. One of the things I’ve made sure to emphasize in all of my tips and writings, is that all bodies are different and all bodies require different things for stimulation. So if a nipple orgasm is not your thing, THAT IS A-OK!

  1. My nipples are desensitized can I still achieve a nipple orgasm?

The short answer is HELL YES! But there’s a lot more to this answer.

So many women commented or reached out because they’d never achieved a nipple orgasm before and didn’t know if they could because their nipples were desensitized or simply weren’t ever all that sensitive to begin with.

Growing up as a girl with HIGHLY sensitive nipples, I’m talking so sensitive I used to wear band aids on them to try to stop the overstimulation. I didn’t realize ALL of the ways women could lose sensitivity over time due to multiple causes.

Here is a list of reasons why women may lose sensitivity in their nipples:

  1. Hormonal Changes – Fluctuations due to pregnancy, menopause, or birth control can affect sensitivity.

  2. Breastfeeding – Frequent nursing can sometimes lead to temporary numbness or desensitization.

  3. Surgery or Trauma – Breast augmentation, reduction, or mastectomies may cause damage to the nerves.

  4. Aging – Natural aging can lead to reduced nerve function and sensitivity.

  5. Nerve Damage – Injuries to the chest, spine, or nerves can impact nipple sensation.

  6. Medical Conditions – Conditions like diabetes, multiple sclerosis, or neuropathy can cause numbness.

  7. Tight Clothing – Prolonged pressure from tight bras or clothing may temporarily reduce sensation. (I thought this was SUPER interesting)

  8. Medication Side Effects – Some medications, including antidepressants, can affect nerve response.

  9. Psychological Factors – Stress, anxiety, or trauma may reduce sensitivity due to mind-body connection.

  10. Frequent or Intense Stimulation – Overstimulation from toys, clamps, or prolonged play can cause temporary desensitization.

Keeping all that in mind, let's also remember that mind-body connection we talked about above and the direct correlation between the brain and our nipples!

I also want to gently remind you again that you are NOT broken if your body isn’t quite able to practice this form of pleasure. Different strokes for different folks. Just because someone enjoys one form of pleasure, doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you if you don’t.

After reading all of the vulnerable comments left under my post about nipple sensitivity it made me wonder… What if these ladies tried toys ON THEIR NIPPLES!!

And then it made me wonder… What toys should they try?! There are so many different variations of toys and products for nipple stimulation so then down the rabbit hole I went…
