What Are The Benefits Of Rose Water?

Rose water is one of the best things to ever happen to me and my self care routine.

Not only can this refreshing love mist be used on your scalp, hair, body and face but my Ethereal Rose Water Love Mist is extra special because it only consists of ONE ingredient: Distilled water derived from roses!

The other day I was in ULTA looking for a vegan nail polish and noticed a new brand of rose water while I waited in line.

If you know me, you know I loveeee reading labels and ingredients so I checked out what was in this Rose Water. To my surprise there were more than 10 ingredients in one 4oz bottle of Rose Water! Some of those ingredients included alcohol and fragrances that are known to be toxic and drying.

One of the reasons I created Ethereal By Love Atiya is because I realized there are so many products out there on the market that are causing more harm than help! A lot of your favorite products have additives, fragrances and non vegan chemicals that are known to be harmful to your skin and overall health (no seriously y'all I’m talking about organ damage kinda harm!)

Now that I got that rant out, let’s talk about why I love my Ethereal Rose Water Love Mist so much!

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ETHEREAL’S ROSE WATER LOVE MIST?:

  • It balances skin’s natural oils.

  • It can help reduce the look of temporary redness.

  • It helps to naturally hydrate your skin and hair.

  • It has antioxidant properties that nourish and protect the skin and hair.

  • It can help prevent fine lines and wrinkles and diminish the look of existing ones.

  • It can help to unclog pores and create a smoother looking appearance.

  • It minimizes the appearance of large pores.

  • It can reduce symptoms of a hot flash or temperature change.

  • It provides a clean base for nutrients.

IT REDUCES HOT FLASHES?!:

Yes! Can you believe one little bottle consisting of one ingredient (plus my secret ingredient which is love, so I guess it’s not that secret) can help aid women of all ages when experiencing temperature changes?!

Although I’m in my late 20’s I've always experienced rapid hormonal changes and included in these changes were what we like to call “hot flashes”. One moment I’m fine and the next moment I am BURNING UP and it feels like someone put a heating pad on my entire body.

One of our biggest reviews from women over the age of 45 is that our Ethereal Rose Water Love Mist is their GO TO product when they’re experiencing a temperature change due to menopausal symptoms. Our mist instantly cools down your skin and leaves you feeling REFRESHED.

It’s also important to note that the PH of Rose water is 5.0 and the optimal pH value of skin on most of our face and body lies between 4.7 and 5.75. So it makes a lot of sense why our skin loves Rose Water so much!

ROSE WATER VS TAP WATER

Rose Water is known to soften your hair!

Regular tap water typically contains minerals like calcium that can build up on your hair and cause it to become brittle. However, because rose water is distilled it can help make your hair softer and fuller.

ROSE WATER CAN HEAL DANDRUFF!:

Rosewater can help with reducing scalp oiliness and dandruff. This is because rose water is a mild astringent (which helps with constricting your body tissues).

ROSE WATER CAN ALSO HEAL PSORIASIS AND ECZEMA:

Rosewater is known to be an anti-inflammatory, which means it could potentially help with scalp conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. A healthy scalp equals healthy hair.

HOW TO USE ROSE WATER ON YOUR HAIR:

Our Ethereal Hair Growth Oil (EHGO) is magical BUT if you’ve been following Ethereal for a while you know that we make it very clear that the oils we use are SEALANTS which means if our oil is going on VERY dry hair, the oil will lock in that dryness. Although one of our ingredients in our EHGO is Aloe Vera which is known to hydrate your hair and scalp, it’s important to make sure you’re applying your hair growth oil on moisturized hair.

That’s where our Rose Water comes in. Whether you have a short hair cut like me or long locks of love, we recommend you spray our lovely Ethereal Rose Water Love Mist on your scalp and hair before applying your EHGO.

You will ABSOLUTELY see and feel a difference.

HOW TO USE ROSE WATER ON YOUR FACE:

Rose water works as a toner. Good toners make your skin smoother and reduce the size of your pores.

The best thing about Rose Water is that it’s safe to be used daily which means it can become an official part of your everyday self care routine.

You can use rose water for oily skin, dry skin, or even a combination skin type!

STEP ONE:

Cleanse your face with our Ethereal Revitalizing Cleanser & Glow Enhancer for about 60 seconds (singing row row row your boat can help you keep track of your timing but I also recommend saying positive affirmations as you cleanse your skin)

Pro Tip: I recommend using our sustainable bamboo cleansing cloths for the best results.

STEP TWO:

Rise off your cleanser and pat your face dry with a paper towel or a CLEAN soft wash cloth. Please be GENTLE.

STEP THREE:

Apply your Ethereal Rose Water Love Mist and be sure to hit your cheeks, forehead & chin!

Pro Tip: for best results I recommend wiping your skin with a gentle cotton pad with rose water.

STEP THREE:

Apply our Ethereal Illuminating and Healing Serum and once again be sure to say loving affirmations as you gently caress your skin with our serum.

STEP FOUR:

Blow yourself a kiss and say something nice to yourself.

Fun Fact: We have a TRIO that includes all 3 of the products listed above for your self care pleasure.

And there you have it. The most magnificent self care routine!
