Breathwork & How It Can Enhance Your Pleasure

Breathwork & Your Pleasure

What if I told you that there’s a built-in pleasure tool inside of your body and I'm not talking about your clitoris?

What if I told you that you have one of the most important tools needed to achieve higher levels of pleasure, and every human has it (even those who may need a bit of assistance with it)?

That feature is: YOUR BREATH.

If you’ve been following me over the years, then you’ve probably heard me speak passionately about incorporating breath and conscious breathing into your pleasure routine.

One day back in 2020, I was watching the documentary Love, Sex, Goop and was filled with so much information about energy work, breathwork, and reigniting our relationships with our bodies.

The segment that stood out to me the most was about breathwork. It was truly ASTONISHING to me to watch a woman orgasm from her breath ALONE. It changed the way I looked at breath as a whole.

It also ignited a memory from when I was younger and would sneak and watch porn on the tv with the show on mute. One of the shows that stood out to me the most was called Real Sex. This HBO special showed an in-depth look into the world of sex work and sexuality as a whole. I liked Real Sex the most out of all the shows I would watch because they showed ALL KINDS of anatomy and not just “pretty, tight, pink” pussies that most other shows would showcase.

I remember rewatching this one specific segment where they showed couples at what I now know to be a tantric retreat. I was so astonished watching these couples reach climax without any penetration. They were orgasming solely on ENERGY and BREATH.

When it comes to breath, we really do tend to take it for granted.

It reminds me of the times that I’ve been sick in the past and breathing became difficult. I’d always say I’m not going to ever take this for granted again and then when I’m able to breathe, guess what I do, take it for granted.

Breathe is literally our life force & is the very thing that keeps us going.

Do you know how often humans walk around this earth and are not consciously breathing?

There are so many times in my daily life where I'll catch myself working hard, and then two minutes in I’ll take a HUGE deep breath that leaves me wondering, how am I still alive if I literally wasn’t breathing for two minutes straight? Was I just on some perpetual exhale?

Breathwork is also a tool that's commonly taught to people who struggle with anxiety (me, I’m one of those people!), both emotionally and sexually.

Think about the last time you may have felt anxious. Breathing naturally gets hard, and sometimes in those moments, we aren’t conscious of our breath at all.

If you’re someone who struggles with anxiety, pain, or not reaching climax in the bedroom, this tool may be perfect for you.

In this blog we’re gonna dive into what breathwork is, why it’s so important, and how you can achieve it.

What is Breathwork?

Think of breathwork as your body’s built-in reset button: just you and your lungs.

It’s the intentional act of playing with your breath in ways that shift your energy, emotions, and even how you show up in your body. Sometimes it’s deep belly breaths, sometimes it’s quick fiery breaths, but it’s always about your inner and outer awareness connecting.

I like to say that “breathwork is like flirting with your own nervous system.”

You’re reminding it, “Hey boo, you’re safe, you’re alive, and you can chill.” It’s the difference between sipping on your breath like a nervous coffee and guzzling it like the life-giving champagne it actually is.

The most important part is YOU are in control of it, and YOU can determine how it’s used to help you reach different levels of pleasure.

Why Breathwork Is Important for Women & Our Pleasure

Many of us were taught to believe that pleasure should only come from touch, but it’s actually about presence. And guess what’s the fastest way to come back to your own presence? Your breath.

When women are stressed, shallow breathing literally blocks the flow of arousal and orgasm. Our bodies need oxygen to relax, open up, and actually receive pleasure.

Deep breathing:

  • softens the pelvic floor

  • increases blood flow

  • helps you feel more connected to sensation instead of stuck in your head.

Why is increasing blood flow important?

Blood flow is literally your body’s love language. When we talk about pleasure, orgasm, or even just feeling juicy and alive, it all comes down to circulation.

Here’s the science: when you breathe deeply or get aroused, your blood vessels dilate. That means more oxygen and nutrients are flowing exactly where they need to go: your brain, your heart, and yes, your vulva and clitoris.

Why does that matter? Because increased blood flow equals increased sensitivity. It’s what makes your clitoris swell, your vaginal walls lubricate, and your whole pelvic region more responsive.

Without proper circulation, it’s like trying to throw a party with no music, no snacks, and no guests showing up. But with strong blood flow? Baby, the whole block is invited, and the vibes are immaculate.

For women especially, increasing blood flow is important because stress, sitting too long, shallow breathing, and even shame can literally shut down circulation to the pelvis.

That’s why breathwork, movement, and intentional arousal are so powerful. They wake up your body’s pleasure pathways and remind your nervous system that it’s safe to receive.

So, the short answer? More blood flow = more oxygen = more sensation = more orgasmic potential. And who doesn’t want that?

Breathwork is like a backstage pass to your pleasure. It helps you slow down, melt tension, and let go of shame or “performance” thoughts. It creates space in your body where pleasure can actually expand.

The Methods

The girlies on social media told me they LOVE holding their breath, and some women said they can ONLY come to orgasm when they hold their breath.

As I always say “different strokes work for different folks.”

So holding your breath may work for some, but I’d like to encourage you to give deep, conscious breathing, and breathwork patterns a try, as it may enhance something that’s already working for you.

Some of the methods I share in my pleasure library may even encourage you to hold your breath at times, like how we do with the box method or the 7,4,8 method, which goes as follows:

The 7,4,8 Method

  • Breathe in for 7

  • Hold for 4

  • Breathe out for 8

  • Repeat

The girlies online also mentioned that sometimes concentrating on their breath and staying in the moment is hard, but I’m here to tell you: your breath will be what connects you even deeper into the moment.

I don’t care what number you count to or what sequence you choose. The goal is to practice until it becomes second nature.

When I think about my breath in everyday life, I’ve had to become so much more aware of how I breathe. Conscious breathwork is real and can be implemented inside and outside of the bedroom.

Today try breathing consciously for 10 to 15 minutes and try to notice and observe if you can feel a difference in your energy.

Journal what sensations come up, what feelings arise and also keep track of what breath patterns work best for you in each individual moment.

If all of this is making you curious (or even a little tingly), I invite you to dive deeper with me inside my Pleasure Library. It’s a cozy online sanctuary that I created just for women like you. It’s a sacred, playful space filled with videos, guided audios, and practical tools to help you explore breathwork, expand your pleasure, and reconnect with your body on a whole new level.

Think of it as your personal treasure chest for pleasure, where science meets sensuality.

Ready to explore? Come join the Pleasure Library and let’s breathe, play, and rise together.

I love you to the moon!

P.S. Shoutout to this article from Refinery29 where they reference me as a TikTok genius (but besides that, they also talk about the importance of breathwork). Feel free to check it out.
